Continental Unveils CrossContact A/T2
Continental has announced the release of the CrossContact A/T2, a new all-terrain tyre designed for modern SUVs and 4WDs tackling mixed driving conditions. The focus is clear: deliver usable off-road capability without compromising everyday road comfort.
The CrossContact A/T2 introduces a revised tread design featuring increased tread depth (deeper grooves for better grip in loose terrain) and a high void ratio (larger gaps between tread blocks for improved traction on uneven surfaces). An open shoulder design (exposed outer edges that help clear mud and debris) supports consistent grip when driving on gravel, sand, and dirt .
Durability is another key focus. The CrossContact A/T2 uses reinforced shoulders (stronger outer tread areas) and sidewall protectors (extra rubber to resist cuts and impacts), along with stone ejectors (features that push out trapped rocks) to reduce the risk of damage in harsh conditions.

Continental has also introduced its BlackPaw Compound (a flexible rubber blend for mixed conditions), designed to maintain grip across wet, dry, and off-road surfaces while adapting to temperature changes.

The CrossContact A/T2 positions itself as a practical all-rounder—targeting drivers who split their time between city roads and regional terrain, rather than extreme off-road use.
