Falken Wildpeak AT3W Long Term Review
We've driven on the Falken Wildpeak AT3W for over 10,000km - get our opinion on these tyres right here in the video. The Falken Wildpeak AT3W tyres were taken over mud, sand, rock, gravel and much more, to test their performance whilst on our Tyre Review Ford Ranger. Check it out. Welcome back to Tyre View where I've been running these Falken Wildpeak AT3W's for about the last 11,000K's or 200 and something hours worth of driving. And I must say I've been really, really impressed with these tyres. I've been through quite deep water, like waist deep water in the car. I've also been through water which you normally aquaplane through on normal tyres and it didn't aquaplane at all so I was really surprised so this actually one night where I was coming back from a photo shoot and I went through this dip where I had previously aquaplaned and had no issues with that. And it was storming and it was horrible so I was really pleased with that. Then another time, we actually went up to the snow and I found an excuse to actually drive through some quite deep snow and they were great. They're really good tyres. And then just recently we went on a quite muddy track down in Pelverata Falls in Southern Tasmania and again the tyres did really well. So I was following another guy who had a Land Cruiser which had some very well known, very well regarded tyres and there was a hole that he couldn't climb out of that I could climb out of which I was very happy with. You know, the big Land Cruiser, anyway. We also took these onto the track, a basketball raceway here in Southern Tasmania as well and I was again really impressed by how well they cornered. They communicated really well so when they were going to lose that grip and there was a little bit of tyre hell but not much. Enough to let you know you were actually pushing the car hard. I feel like it did fairly well, so that's great. So the AT3W is a solid tyre but therein lies a bit of a problem. The ride is a little bit rougher than maybe nonaggressive tyres or less aggressive tyres. So passenger comfort is a little bit of a trade off with this tyre, but that's a trade off that I am willing to take. So, in all, for these tyres, I would really recommend. They're a confidence inducing tyre and wouldn't hesitate to say to anyone that give them a try and see how they go on your car. Full Transcript: Hey, welcome to Tyre Review. We've got a new tyre in the warehouse today and it's the Falken AT3W which is a brand new, all terrain tread pattern from these guys. So it's not the old Falken AT. The new version has all sorts of new technology built into it but I'm really excited to get this one because they say it's the AT3W because it's built for wear, winter, and wet weather performance. So there's three W's in there. So this tyre has sipes that really lock the tread together and provide solid blocks that really resist high torque wear and provide that handling but also, when you are going slower, the tyre is actually more conformable so it can go over those rocky, rough terrain when you are forward driving. So an interesting thing about this tyre is, make sure you looking at this when you are getting them mounted, is they actually have different lettering on each side so one side has raised lettering and other side has lower lettering. This is to give one side a more aggressive and the other side less aggressive tread pattern or look from the side of the car. So these are also a snow rated tyre. We've got this little snow symbol down here next to the AT3W which means that it is actually meant for snow and ice. So I'm really excited because these actually are going on my personal Ford Ranger. We're going to be testing them for the next 10,000K's over a variety of different terrains but I like them because they are such an aggressive looking tyre. And one of the reasons why people buy mud tyres these days, is because of that aggressive look whereas on the car these are going to look great and I'll be putting them through lots of different water, snow, hopefully, off road, we'll be going down to Pelverata Falls. So we'll report back in about 10,000K since we'll have put through their paces.

Full Transcript: Jared Mendham: I'm Jared from Tyre Review, and we're here on the west coast of Tasmania for the Tyre Review Winter Adventure. I'm with Leeson, who has been driving in the 200 series on the Falken Wildpeak M/T this whole weekend. Leeson, could you describe some of the tracks that we've been driving on. Leeson Moulton: We've had everything on the tracks we've been driving, Mount Huxley. We went Montezuma Falls. Yesterday, we did Climies Track and here we are today on Henty Dunes. They've had everything. They've had mud, rock, granite, and the sand here. It's been, yeah, some hectic trails. Jared Mendham: Yeah, cool. So on mud, how do you feel that went? Leeson Moulton: I was really impressed in the mud. I didn't get stuck at all. Yeah, super impressed. Jared Mendham: And on the rock? Leeson Moulton: The rock, I felt really comfortable on the rock. Yeah, I was actually surprised at how little bumps we had on the rock. We just crawled up everything at point shoot. Jared Mendham: And a bit of fun in the sand? Leeson Moulton: Lots of fun in the sand. I'm looking forward to a little bit more fun actually. Jared Mendham: Cool. Leeson Moulton: Yeah. Jared Mendham: How'd it handle on the road? Leeson Moulton: Really surprised. It's the first time I've actually driven on mud terrains on the road. I was expecting that mud terrain hell, but they're really quiet and confident because we were up to speed 100/110 on some wet roads, and they felt really good. Jared Mendham: Cool. So, overall impression of the tyres? Leeson Moulton: I'd definitely buy them, yeah. Jared Mendham: Yeah. Leeson Moulton: Fantastic. Jared Mendham: Awesome. Cool. Leeson Moulton: Cool. Thank you. Falken Azenis RT615K+ Long Term Review
We find out how the Falken Azenis RT615K+ tyres performed on Al's Subaru WRX. He's been using them for every day driving and on the track to give us a high performance tyre review of the Falken RT615K+. With well over 17,000 km's he's given them a good run through wet, dry and under performance circumstances. Let's find out how the Falken RT615K Plus ultra high performance tyres behaved once Al got really into using them. Full Transcript: - Jared from Tyre Review here. And, today we're doing a longterm review on the Falken RT 615K Plus. So, Al's been running these on his Subaru for the last, at least 10,000 K's. We'll check in on how far he's gone. I can hear him coming around the corner now. So, let's just see, hopefully he pulls into the right spot. . Here he comes. Hello. - Hello. - Say hello to the camera Al. - G'day guys, how are you doing? - So, Al you've been driving on these tyres for how long now? - I've done about 17,000 Ks over five months, six months. - And, day to day driving, you probably do what? 30Ks or 60Ks a day window? - Yeah, I used to but I recently moved. But yeah, I used to do about a 100Ks round trip every day. - And so, how did you find these tyres for sort of day to day living? - They were excellent. Until they got worn down about 15,000 Ks. I noticed the wet performance wasn't too good anymore. But, until then I had absolutely no problems at all in the wet and the dry. It was comfortable. - So, how did it degrade with the wet? - I noticed it definitely lost traction a lot in the wet, not even when it was raining just when the ground was wet, it started losing traction. And also, I did notice a fair bit of aquaplaning during very heavy rain. - And on the dry though, it seems like you stuck to the ground fairly well? - [Alister] Yeah. In the dry they're still perfect. - [Jared] I know that you took these to the track as well. How do they go on the track? - Oh, they were great. I gave them a good workout I reckon. They held all day. I did a fair few long sessions, probably 10 laps or more. And, I didn't notice any fade in the grip the whole time, which is impressive. - Yeah, that's amazing. And how, I mean, obviously these are not the R-compound. So, they're not designed for heavy track days and they're not that extra sticky sort of compound. How do they feel after the track days? - Yeah. So after the track day, I do feel there was a definite change. I don't know if it was the, like the corners of the sidewall. Maybe had worn down. There was a noticeable change in the road noise as well. It sort of sounded if you're familiar with, when you're going off road you let your tyres down. - Yes. - And then back on the road, the sort of like a squidgy rubbery sound. It started sounding like that afterwards. But grip is still about where it was. - Yeah right. So, they've changed a little bit. But, so it sounds like for somebody day to day driving, not going to the track, they'd be fantastic. Somebody choosing to go to the track and use them at the track and that's their job. It sort of sounds like they'd be pretty proper for both. - Yeah. Before I attacked them a little bit on the track, I thought we were on track to do 20, 25Ks, thousand Ks easily. - Which is pretty great for these tyres considering the low profile tread and all that sort of stuff. - Yeah, for ultra high performance tyres like these 15 to 20,000 it's fairly typical. - That's like a quarter of what I'm used to getting out of my tyres. - That's the price you pay. - Yeah, that's right. Any final thoughts for people who are looking at purchasing these tyres? - Yeah. So, for the price point they're probably about two thirds of the price of some other well known brands for the same performance. - Really? - I actually felt in the wet initially these performed better. So, I would actually, I would highly recommend these if you were putting them on a daily driver. - Awesome. Oh, cool. Falken ZIEX CT60 Studio Overview, a Falken SUV Tyre?!

We're taking a closer look at the CT60 tyre in this video to see what it is made of and what their main selling points have been. Full transcript - Gudday. Today in the warehouse we've got the Falken ZIEX, Zeex, seis, seeks, ZIEX CT60. So today in the warehouse we've got the Falken ZIEX Zeex, I don't know how you actually say that. Falken, you wanna let me know!? Falken ZIEX CT60. And this is a new tyre for Falken. It's part of the ZIEX family, but it's aimed heavily at the SUV market, which is a boom market, as we all know. And so Falken really are putting a bit of, or a lot of marketing and push behind this tyre because for them it's a big segment that they really want to get into. So the ZIEX comes in tyre sizes between 215/65R16 to 255/50R20. I've got it written up there in case you see my eyeballs going up there, so again, breaking the third wall. They also say that they've got advanced tread compound, which is theoretically gonna equal shorter braking distances in the dry and the wet, shorter versus what, I'm not sure, but shorter breaking distances, yay. And they reckon that it's gonna be more durable and reliable for the everyday driver. So this is one of those new range of tyres we're seeing coming onto the market that have all of these, and that it's more obvious that they're actually putting more work, or more obvious work, into the tyre and trying to make it last longer, because people have more choice now than ever before, particularly in this sort of segment. So let's take a quick look at the tread pattern. You can see here it's made up of one, two, three, four, five central ribs or, yeah, two outside ribs and three central ribs. And you can sort of see it from the outset, it's actually gonna be a quieter tyre because right here through these outside ribs, you can see there's very little actual gaps through the outside block for noise to leak through. And on this side, it actually has no gaps whatsoever. So that's gonna make it both quieter, but also it means that there's no noise gonna be or less noise is gonna be leaking out through the outsides of the tread. Yeah, so that should be really good for cornering based on looking at the tread, because they've got these five consistent tread ribs that are going around the tyre. Also, you can see these four deep channels, which means that they should, theoretically, be good for ejecting water out from the tread pattern. And the other interesting thing is actually just even feeling the rubber. I never thought I'd be into fetishes or anything like that, but they're actually a really tacky compound. So that means that, theoretically, they'll be better for sticking onto the road. But it'll be interesting to see how long they last in terms of longterm wear. So we'll get a tread depth on this one and actually see how we go. So that's the Falken ZIEX CT60. We're gonna stick these onto a Subaru Outback for a longterm test. They're coming from a set of All-Terrains to a set of these. So it'll be interesting to see how the reviewer reckons that they differ between the more aggressive tyres versus these, which are more SUV, so passenger-focused.
