Toyota Corolla KE55 & Toyota Corolla KE70 - Reviewer's Rides

Toyota Corolla KE55 & Toyota Corolla KE70 - Reviewer's Rides

We've got Andy & Nathan with their Toyota Corolla KE55 & Toyota Corolla KE70 in the Reviewers Rides today. Meeting up during the Performance Driving Australia Track Day at the Baskerville Raceway. Andy & Nathan talk us through their cars, modifications and wish list for the future. Plus we find out which of the two lost a tyre on the track! 0:00 Introduction 4:30 About the cars 9:20 On the track Full Transcript: - Good day, Jared, from Tyre Review here and we're at Basketball Raceway today for a drive day, run by Performance Driving, Australia. And I'm here with Nathan and Andy and they're basically team Corolla, but gents maybe give us a bit of the background as to where you came from and why you're here with two Corollas. - Probably all my fault, I've been married to motor sport all my life and raced power boats for a while. And when I got back to the circuit, so we sold the boat bought a car. Mainly because my son had discovered sports sedans - Yes. - And he liked the old dinosaurs. - So you're the bad influence? - Yeah, I suppose it's my fault. - It is your fault. - Nathan's been harassing everyone that has old sports sedans and sheds and everything else and, and they were sort of on the comeback trial. So got to have a sports sedan as well. Nathan's gone on and found himself a sports sedan. - So you've got the sports sedan because you guys are trying to get sports sedans in Tasmania, up and running again so you had to get one to support that. - Why not? If you got to be out there racing might as well support what you're... And it's old school racing, it's backyard engineering, if you're racing at that level, it's tricky engine swaps, and it's a bit of backyard geometry and playing with your chill absorbers yourself rather than spending all your big dollars. - Nathan, was just saying pretty much that anything goes as long as the engine isn't above six litres. - That is correct, yes. - That's pretty amazing. - That's right. And people slot all sorts of different motors into different things. For example, my car, nice little Corolla. - Sort of a little gentle natured, friendly Corolla. - Yeah, nice little K55 and you lift up the bonnet and all the Toyota aficionados go to cover, go to ground. Seeing there's a Nissan SI20 motor. - [Jared] So it's an SI20 from a Nissan in a Toyota. - [Andy] That's it, makes it a blue blood sports sedan. - So you were the first to buy the Corolla? - I think I bought mine first but because of COVID it was a long time getting out of Melbourne and Nathan purchased his locally and he had his home in the shed before mine got here. - Yeah. - But bonus with mine, mine has been a race car for... 10 to 15 years of it's life so it's really well sorted and ready to go sort of thing. It was just waiting for some track days to come and do it. - So you basically got it all, like stickers, everything is as you bought it? - I haven't touched a thing yet. - Yet. It'll change but first is learning the car, how it works and then we'll start worrying about the aesthetics. The performance of it we're absolutely wrecked with it. - So you just get in and having a hack? - Having a flat out hack. - Good. But Nathan, your Corolla wasn't quite stock when you got it? - No, it started off as a drift car. Has been for 10 years, thereabouts. I pretty much just got it and tidied up the body a little bit and slowly just stepping it up and getting it ready to be log booked as a sports sedan and hopefully race early next year. - So what sort of engine are you running on this one? - It's got a 4AGE turbo. - So that's obviously not the original motor? - No, normally they are a little single cam motor. But it's had a twin cam motor put in from a... It's a supercharged motor so I'll assume it's probably a Mi-2 or something like that. - Doesn't go very well though, it's more like the 1300. - Yeah, well... - Got some bit of banter going on here. - It never ends. - [Jared] So what are your plans for this one? - [Nathan] Just to continue to tidy out the body, bit of paint, livery and just enjoy it. - [Jared] So it's pretty much ready to race? [Nathan] - More or less, I might eventually look at putting together a spare motor. You know saying, a little bit more fruit maybe, but as it is the thing is plenty powerful enough and it's good fun to drive. - Well, maybe let's have a quick look under the bonnet. Andy, you want to pop your bonnet? I know this one is quite the special little beast that's sitting under here. You don't even have to go inside to pop it. - No. - That's what makes it a pure race car. - Yeah, exactly. - Up it comes and there you go. Okay, that's not a little 1300 Corolla. - No, you've got the very obvious individual throttle bodies there. - Yes, give it a nice little note and very good under the foot too. - It's pretty shouty. - It is, it's very crisp. Moving through to about 7.2/7.3

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer - Reviewer's Rides

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer - Reviewer's Rides

Today in Reviewer's Rides we have a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer owned by Ash. Ash is meeting us on the Baskerville Raceway for the Performance Driving Australia Track Day and about his Mitsubishi Lancer aka Nan car. We hear what he has done to the car, what he would like to do in the future and how the 2003 lancer has been performing so far. 0:00 Introduction 3:18 About the car 8:11 On the track Full transcript: - G'day, Jared from "Tyre Review" and I'm with Ash. And Ash we are at the Performance Driving Australia Track Day. - Yes. - We're gonna look at your car in a second, but give us a bit of a background on yourself, and what's brought you to this point. - So I was a mechanic for roughly 10 years. Really didn't do a lot with cars at that point 'cause you know, you spend all day working on them, you didn't have a hobby so. - Yeah. And before that was all IT. So yeah, I ended up when I left the trade, and pulled out. Started having a bit of a play, some of me mates and that at the new workplace and that. Started having race cars, and that sort of stuff. So I bought this thing originally off Gumtree for $800, needing a clutch. - 800 bucks? - [Ash] Yeah, 800 bucks, needing a clutch, still had six months' Rego on it. So I drove it about 35 Ks home with no clutch, just rev matching in the gears to get it home. - Nice. - I think the clutch cost me about 80 bucks or something back then, and I just changed it over in about two hours on the hoist at home. - Nice. - And it was done. - Helps having a hoist at home. - Ah it does. It does help a lot. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Plus all these specialty tools that are sitting in the sheds helped a lot. - So you do obviously do all your own work. - Yep, so everything on this car, apart from the alarm and stuff which has been done by a mate whose actually here as well today. It's basically been all built at home in the shed just after hours stuffing about, so- - That's cool! Well, let's have a look at the car. - Yep. - So what's the details on it? - Ah, so it's a technical, it's 2003, a Mitsubishi Lancer front wheel drive. You know, it started life out as basically grandma's race car . - It would have been like a 1.3 or something like that? - Ah no, a 1.8 it's always had a 1.8 in it. Just, yeah started throwing bits and pieces at it where I could. - Yeah. - So things I sorta added in there over time. It's got a full set of MCA street outfit coil overs. The brakes have been through a couple of upgrades, but now it's, you know, it went from 230 mil to 300 ml mini Cooper rotors. - That'll do. - With Pajero callipers and Evo pads. - Right, what year Pajero? - NH, so it would been sort of late nineties. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - It's also same as V6 Magna. - Yeah. - It uses Proton Satria Gti rear disc conversions, take the drums off it. - Nice. - It's got an Evo three master cylinder in it, so it's actually got the right brake pedal field. - That's cool. - And then yeah, it's just had everything else that I've pieced to it from time to time. It's got an Evo four three six cage. You know know it? - Yup. - [Ash] Just some cheap bucket seats from Repco. - [Jared] The cage just fitted up? - Belts straight in. - Nice. - Yep, all the same chassis. It's just, the EVO's are a bit wider. - And you've just recently turbo'd it as well? - Yeah, so well it's actually been going for 12 months- - Really? - with turbo on it. It's on its second revision of the turbo kit. - Yup. - First-hand there's 13 turbo, general bearing ran out of half at about 120 kilowatts. It's got a ball bearing, it's 15 turbo on it now, it makes about 160 to the tyre. - Nice, nice. - Which is a big up from the it 50 made in factory. - Yeah it wouldn't mate, it wouldn't weigh much as well. Like how much- - Nah it's - What'ya reckon it was? - With the cager in there it's about 1,100 kilos as it sits here now. - Nice - So it's a good bit of fun for power to weight. - Yeah. - And yeah the surprising thing is this motor's still hanging in there. That motor's completely standard bar a cam and springs. Factory head gasket, all the factory gaskets through everything else. - Really? So is it still the same motor that came with the car? - Yeah, it's the same motor that came with the car from the factory. - Nice. So yeah. - 210,000 Ks on the clock. And the first time we got to drive it turbo'd was Christmas Eve. Drove it for a little bit. This is obviously last year, Christmas Day I went to go imbed the limited slip diffing in the front of it there, and snap the fitting out the back of the block, and pumped all its oil out. - Well that's awesome. - So this engine is currently an engine that had no oil in it on Christmas Day, while still driving. - Merry Christmas. - So, it's still going. So it's a testament to the little 1.8's. They're pretty hard to kill. - That's amazing. And now we've got to talk about size. What are you running on at the moment?

Mazda MX5 NA 1.8 - Reviewer's Rides

Mazda MX5 NA 1.8 - Reviewer's Rides

Today in Reviewer's Rides we check out Nash's Mazda MX5 NA during the Performance Driving Tasmania Track Day on Tasmania's Baskerville Raceway. Nash talks us through his previous cars, why he likes racing and what has done to the Mazda MX5 so far. We also get introduced to ooh-woo eyes... yes.. ooh-woo eyes. 0:00 Introduction 1:10 About the car 8:05 On the track Full Transcript: - Good day, Jared from Tyre Review, we're at the performance driving Australia track day at Baskerville in Southern Tasmania. And we're just doing some reviewers ride and I've got Nash. Nash, you've got this car behind you but what sort of got you to this point? - Well, - Apart from me asking you to come out here. - Well it all started back. I started with an old four runner - Nice - and learned to drive that fast on some back roads from the West coast. - They're not really known for their handling though. - Not at all, pretty known for rolling, actually but I've managed to, I lifted on three wheels a fair bit, but, but yeah, anyway so I always wanted a fun car and grew up with two older brothers with fast cars. And I like going round corners fast. So I was like, well, there's only a few options and I mean for cheap and it has popups. - Yeah that's right, I mean pop-ups are sort of the main reason why you buy this car isn't it? - Pretty much, it's NB's, way better, but you know, they don't have pop-ups so. - That's right, but yeah, I mean, and you've also given what, what, what what did you call it before? - Which bit? - The tape. - The tape. Ah, the Ooh-woo eyes. - Ooh-woo eyes? - Ooh-woo eyes. It's a a sad, but tired look It's kinda like the engine I imagine at this age. 30 years on, it's proper representation. - So tell us about it, what is it? - Well, it's a 1.8, MX5, which is the bigger engine of the NA's. - A big block? - Yeah a big block. Big block MX5. It's five speed and non-variable valve timing. So it just missed out on that, but it's, I mainly just got the 1.8, apparently they're slightly more reliable but there's very little power difference. It's got a factory, very, very tight LSD and I've just put some BC coil overs in. I think they're BC reds. Actually not a hundred percent sure. - [Jared] How's that changed the characteristics of the car? - Well, I come here 12 months ago with the original suspension from 1994 and I would get a 1:12 and so far I'm getting under 1:10. So my nine one eight, and that's not driving it as hard as I was last time. It actually sits square on the road. It doesn't just lift a wheel. It doesn't, doesn't lift a wheel and doesn't feel like you're about to roll. - So it's not a lovely fore-runner then? - No, no, it's not at all actually. And it's passengers getting in and out screaming and putting their hands all over the window like trying to hold on. It's just like, sweet. - [Jared} You know what that say about Men with convertibles anyway but you know. - [Nash] Well, yeah. - [Jared] Sorry, we'll leave it there. - [Nash] Yeah. We'll leave. Touchy subject - [Jared] Literally - Yeah. - So what else are you? - Very little. I've just put the Federal RSRs on and Smanckies, just for a bit of lightness and just looking towards other mods really, but yeah cool. - So the, the wheels and the fitment looks really nice. So how have you found the tyre so far? - The tyres? So this is my first time actually driving it properly on tyres, on decent tyres I do a few back roads from Devonport. So few decent back roads but to actually get them hot, it's made a major difference. It turns out I have not ever had them warm. - [Jared] Really? - [Nash] Yeah. And I didn't realise what a difference it's made. - [Jared] So you would have had street tyres when you were here 12 months ago? - Yes so I had Kumho FM 800's and they were real wide sidewall I think. So they were a one eight five, they're a one eight, five 60 on a 14. - That's, yeah, that's pretty small. - Yeah. And it still would chop Commodores. So, and that's fine with me. Yeah. I've done one drag race and still one but. - The MX5 won. - Yeah. The lights. Yeah. Only once. And we'll just keep it at that. Let's go. Yeah, yeah. - We don't condone that sort of thing, kids. - Yeah probably don't do that in front of, you know, lots of people, yeah. - So what are you planning on doing to it? - Well, I am currently tossing up between a seat, a racing seat and harness and roll bar, which is definitely do it. If you get an MX5, get it, get a roll bar.. - [Jared] Yeah I was looking at it with the top-down before and it's, it's not, there's not much there. - [Nash] Yeah I would call it sketchy. Yes. Yeah. It's pretty scary. I had my girlfriend in the car before and it's like, she's like, Oh I was like, Oh, you should tighten up your helmet cause if you roll, you know, you're like on a motorbike, it's like you gotta make sure, and then I was like, well I mean, you'll die so. So either way.

Subaru Impreza WRX GC8 - Reviewer's Rides

Subaru Impreza WRX GC8 - Reviewer's Rides

Today in Reviewer's Rides we check out Peter's Subaru Impreza WRX GC8 during the Performance Driving Tasmania Track Day on Tasmania's Baskerville Raceway. We find out what Peter has done to the Subaru WRX and what he does during his spare time with PT Motorsport. Check out where things go sideways around the 8 min mark. 0:00 Introduction 3:38 About the car 7:30 On the track Full Transcript: - G'Day, Jared for Tyre Review here and we're at the Performance Driving Australia Track Day. And I'm here with Peter, and Peter you're no stranger to Track Day cars. So maybe give us a bit of a background on yourself and what brought you to this point? - Hi, I'm Peter from PT Motorsport and yes, I have been driving race cars for about 13, 15 years now and before that had a little career in Motocross as well. - Nice. - So yeah, going fast it's kind of my thing and four wheels is where it's at now. - Cool. - So this white car, Impreza, at the moment we're, this is my latest project, and essentially it's just my school fees into learning how to build wiring harnesses and setting up ECUs from scratch. - Yeah, I've seen some pretty tidy work in there already so we'll have a look at that in a minute. But what's your goals with this car? - [Peter] At the moment it's just get the car tuned and operational and then start having some fun with it. - [Jared] Now you're running a fairly stock motor in there at the moment, right? - [Peter] It's rather standard, yeah. - [Jared] Yep. - [Peter] Yeah, it's an EJ20G. - [Jared] So that's the original motor that came with that one? - [Peter] It's not numbers matching, but yeah it is sort of a similar era. - [Jared] Yeah yeah. And then you're actually running a smaller turbo. - Yes. It's a teeny tiny turbocharger on there at the moment, VF10 it gets on boost real quick which has been nice for Khanacross. - Yeah, yeah. So that's the sort of where you're heading with this one for now Khanacross or, - Yeah it Khanacross is a lot of fun. So one car on the track at a time in a paddock and there's lots of flags that you have to dodge and go round a really tight track in the paddock. And yeah it's really good fun. - Yeah cool. So with your PT Motorsport, what are your sort of looking to start pumping out? - So a PT Motorsport just began as me and T-man just fooling around in the shed and then deciding to get a little bit more serious about it and start building a brand. And now it's gone from a motor sport consulting and driving instruction to now we're actually starting to fabricate some parts and wiring harnesses. - That's cool. Now you've been fooling around with the new ECU in this thing. What's that? So I've got the ECU masters, EMU black in there at the moment. So I'm the first one out of all my friends to get one. And we're all kind of probing around it and having a look, ahh is it going to be any good? And then I just bit the bullet and bought it and yeah, it's a really good thing. - Yeah. It seems pretty clear and easy to understand. - Yeah. 10 out of 10 would recommend, the logging is just the best that I've used so far. - Yep. Now obviously this isn't your daily. What other things have you got in the stable? - So my daily is a D23 Navara - Yeah. - and the other race car is an R33 Skyline Turbo Drive. Mainly use that for drift at the moment. - Yeah. Also we might catch up with you with the Drift Tasmania events sometime soon. So yeah, I'm pretty excited about that. But what tyres you got on at the moment? - [Peter] So tyres we've got on today are the Nankang AR-1s and I got a 225/45 16 on there. I wanted to run the 16 inch tyre just because I have to run the little breaks because for Khanacross we run a 15 inch tyre and we've got to have the small GT Forrester brakes to clear the 15s. So it's like, why put more mechanical disadvantage on the brakes than I have to, so I'm stuck with the 16s. - Yep. So you're actually limited within those specs and that's for Khanacross as well as you're saying for rally earlier as well? - Yeah. So for rally and Khanacross you've got to run 15 inch wheels. And that's just because that's what rally tyres come in. And yeah, if you've got 15 inch wheels, you are limited on brake choice. - Yeah. Should we pop the hood? - Yeah mate. - Have a look. See if I can remember how these roll. - [Peter] Ahh, this is an aluminium R8 one. - Yeah that's really light. - [Peter] Yeah. - It's like, waaayy! So if we come stand over here Now, so you're keeping the stock. Well not stock. Is this stock? Is this stock for the original car, the... - Yeah that Eduway inter cooler the teeny tiny one that you see in there that's standard for this model. - Yeah. Will you be keeping that for now? - I have to keep either that one or an RA one which is a little bit bigger and that's for rules for rally.

1994 Honda Integra DC4 GSi - Reviewer's Rides

1994 Honda Integra DC4 GSi - Reviewer's Rides

Today in Reviewer's Rides we have a 1994 Honda Integra DC4 GSi owned by Jacob. We meet up on the Baskerville Raceway for the Performance Driving Tasmania Track Day and have a chat to Jacob about his current car, previous cars and what why he chose the Honda Integra DC4 GSi. 0:00 Introduction 5:32 About the car 10:22 On the track Full transcript: - It's Jared from Tyre Review and we're here at the Performance Driving Australia Track Day at Baskerville in Southern Tasmania and I've got Jacob here, Jacob. - How's it going? - Tell us about yourself. - Basically, I'm a carpet layer. Been getting into cars for about 10, 11 years now. Never really used to think about it at all until I bought my dream car 10 years ago which was a 1989 Toyota Supra and... - That's one of the sort of the squared one - Yeah yeah that rectangular square body ones before the model that everyone sees, which is like, oh is that a Supra, so - That's right, yeah yeah - So, yeah. So I bought that and then that started the car modifying bug. - So what we've got behind us is a bit different from the Supra. - Yes. So, I didn't wanna take that to the track and be in that car - Yeah - Cause that's like, that's my dream car so this is... - So you really don't care about Honda's? - Not really, see the thing is I was always a person that was just like, ah it's just a Honda, you know, you're just a rice burner, that kind of thing, until I jumped in this and then took her for a drive and then I was like, oh! These are actually kind of cool. - That's great I was gonna say our sound guy's probably turning us down right now cause he loves Hondas, but yeah, - Yeah I know, that's where I met him too as well at the Tazzy Honda group, yeah. - That's cool. Yeah so I mean, how long have you had this one for? - I've had it about 40 months now. - Yeah - Yeah and it's gone through a lot of changes. - [Jared] So what is it? Tell us the details. - [Jacob] So it is a 94 DC4 Honda Integra GSI model. Non-VTECH just runs out a 1.8 litre, Twin Cam engine. - [Jared] Yeah - [Jacob] And it's got a nice turbo stepped to the side of it now. - [Jared] I was gonna say it's not just anymore so you've added the turbo recently. - [Jacob] Yes, yeah. I have been developing that for about six months now. - [Jared] Yeah. - [Jacob] Yeah, and yeah, it's going all right. - [Jared] All right. - [Jacob] Yeah, I've had a few trials and tribulations with it. Mainly it likes to catch herself on fire. - I have heard, I was prompted to say, you know tell us about the fire action. - Yeah. So the last track day I did, everything was going well until, the under bonded temperatures of it got so hot that it actually melted the oil feed line to the turbo, cause it was just slightly too close and I'm running PTFE line and like all the proper stuff but it just actually melted where the crimp was, - Yeah right. - And started shooting oil straight onto the exhaust manifold so... - That's ridiculous. - Yeah so it just was like, yeah, I'm gonna catch on fire now. - I did actually see a video of your motive and see if we can crop it over this one of the jury rig set up your head to get your home which was the windscreen wipers, - Yes - Squirting water onto the turbo. - Yeah, so it was shooting water directly to the oil feeding. So every time like when I was pulling up to lights and that to get home, like we could see smoke pouring out from it. So it's like having a few squirts or the windscreen wipers smoke will go away, continue driving and like every like, you know, 30 seconds so just give it a couple squirts just to make sure it wasn't gonna ignite. - Ain't no problem. How far did you have to go like that. - I travelled from here to Kingston. So that's... - That's a long way - Yeah, it's about 15, 20 minute drive, about 40 ks - Yeah, yeah, so there's a long way, did you have enough water? - Just enough. Like so like when I got home, yeah, the washer bottle was empty and I rang up home and I was just like, get the horse ready cause I'm coming over, the cars on fire. So yeah, as soon as I got home just quickly just pop the bonnet just up and just shove the horse under it. - Yeah, yeah Now I believe you do a lot of your own work. - Yes, so everything to the car, I've done myself. So the terrible body work, AC wiring, all the fabrication, yeah everything. - [Jared] Yeah I mean, it's just sitting giggles really, isn't it? It's like, you know what it takes to get out here. - [Jacob] Yeah exactly. - [Jared] That's awesome What are some of the cool things you've done to it? - Pretty much everything actually. So, it started off with just wheels, tyres and suspensions. - Yeah, I probably should check in what tyres have you run on it so far?

2010 Toyota Prado Reviewer's Ride - Will 33's fit on a Prado?

2010 Toyota Prado Reviewer's Ride - Will 33's fit on a Prado?

Our Reviewer's Ride for today is a 2010 Toyota Prado LC150. We get a laid back tour from Andrew, of Get Outside Tasmania, who has been driving around on a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's you may have seen previously on Tyre Review. A big question with most four wheel drives is, can you fit 33" tyres to it? In this video, Andrew answers how he has managed that, as well as a tour through the other modifications he's made to make it work for his family in day-to-day life, as well as adventure mode. Chapters 0:00 Introduction 0:40 Why a Toyota Prado? 2:11 Car modifications 3:40 Fitting 33's on a Prado 5:35 Get Outside Tasmania project Full transcript: - Hey folks. So today we're doing a reviewer's ride with Andrew here and his Prado. So we had a plan of catching up with Andrew in this amazing place called the Styx Valley in Tasmania. And it was going to be amazing until it started decided to rain all day. But anyway, we're going ahead anyway. So this is Andrew, everyone. - Hi everyone. Thanks for coming. Thanks for joining us. Today we're talking about your Prado, so maybe let's start off whilst we're in the cover and out of the rain. Tell us about your car and why you bought this car. Like, you've got a family, little family what was the driving reason for buying the Prado? - Well I actually bought a brand new Hilux, and was planning on kitting that out for a family vehicle once we had our daughter and just for some random reason, the ute didn't seem to suit the family lifestyle and Alice needed a new car. So this is actually my wife's car, her daily driver, and yeah, can't fault it it's perfect four wheel drive for us and comfortable for the family. She loves it. - Yeah. - Yeah. - You've certainly gone to town in equipping it - Yeah. - And it's got good road presence. And once we hop outside the car, you'll be able viewers at home will be able to see why. Anything internal you've done to the car? You've got a cage in the back? - Just, yeah. Cargo barrier and a bit of electrics so - Yep. - Yeah UHF'S - The fancy GME UHF which we've been using to say "We'll be hoping out of the car in about one minute." - Couple of charging ports in the back and extra plugs for fridge et cetera. But didn't really need much. - Yeah. - We were lucky enough to find GXL factory leather - Yes that's right fancy fancy leather. - Which is, you don't often find, but yeah Tow Pro. - Few switches here and there but. - Yep cool, well let's hop outside into the rain. We have our umbrellas so. Ready? So I guess if we start at the front, it looks like a fair bit of TJM gear from you know on the bus. - Yeah well, I just had a good chat with a guy there Danny from TJM just he was easy to deal with and - Yep. - Gave us a pretty good deal on this stuff so. - Yeah cool. - So probably interesting things are Bull Bar. That was, I guess, just the TJM version. - Yep. - And then you've got the snorkel as well. What made you go for that one? - Just probably to keep the looks flush. - Yep. - As well just quite like the look of it, how it wrapped and yeah, you don't see many of them around. - Yeah. I like the idea that sort of catches the breeze off the windscreen as well so that's interesting. And then obviously got the Roof Rack and the Maxtraxs on there. You guys ride a lot as well so. - Yeah, I've normally got a Hitch Rack in as well. - Yep. - For the bikes and I just interchange bits and pieces, depending on what we're doing. - Yeah cool. - On the weekends and holidays and stuff. - Now, the thing I like about this car, the best is the road presence and just how the tyres look on the car or the tyres and the wheels. So let's just swing around here. And so people have been watching this for a while, actually recognise these Coopers as ones that I had on my car a little while ago, these are the Cooper AT3 XLTs, which is actually 285/70/R17. And now...they're not the most easy tyres to fit onto these Prados. So what did you actually do to actually fit them? - No well, I had to get, obviously the suspension lift and then just change the offset of the wheels had to go. - Two inch suspension lift? - Yeah it's probably closer to three. - Yep. - Just the way it ended up that Bilstein-Dobinson combo. Yeah it was, actually sat quite a lot higher than I was expecting it to. - Yep. - I was happy with that. - Yeah cool. - And then the offset of the rims, the factor is 20 or 25, had to go out to a zero. - Yeah, right. To get the 17 by eights to fit the 33"s and. - Yep. - Awesome. - Yeah. How have you found the tyres to ride on? Because mean I did 10,000 Km on them. And how many have you done on them now? - Probably close to in over 25. - Yep. - And yeah, they're great for pretty much everything except for when it gets really muddy and slushy. Obviously they're not that type of tyre, but for everything else, they're just cushiony. They ride well, they're quiet - Yep. - On the sand they're awesome.
