Hyundai Ioniq Tyre Reviews

Tyres are the only part of a Hyundai Ioniq that touches the road, and they have more influence on braking, wet grip, noise and ride comfort than almost any other component you can change. This page collects owner reviews and buying advice for Hyundai Ioniq tyres in Australia.

What to look for in Hyundai Ioniq tyres

An electric car puts unusual demands on its tyres: substantial battery weight, instant torque delivery and a very quiet cabin that makes road noise obvious. Wear rates are typically higher than an equivalent combustion car, and tyres carrying an HL or XL load designation are frequently specified from the factory for exactly that reason.

Rolling resistance is worth taking seriously, since it translates directly into range. EV-specific tyres balance low rolling resistance against wet grip and noise, often with a foam liner bonded inside the casing to damp cavity noise. Fitting a cheaper standard-load tyre in the same nominal size can compromise both the load rating and the range the car was engineered around.

Hyundai Ioniq tyre sizes and fitment

The authoritative source for your tyre size is the placard on the vehicle itself — usually inside the driver's door jamb, sometimes in the glovebox or on the fuel filler flap. It lists the size, the minimum load index and speed rating, and the recommended pressures for both normal and loaded running. Because the Ioniq was offered with more than one wheel and tyre combination across its life and variants, the placard on your car is more reliable than a generic size list.
