Terrafirma Rugged Terrain R/T Reviews

Terrafirma Logo

The Terrafirma® Rugged Terrain R/T is Light Truck construction, and combines extreme off-road traction with on-road performance,

Key Features

  • Tough guts - 2 Ply 1500 denier reinforced sidewalls, a strong steel belt package and chemically-coupled silica compound provides the extreme traction and toughness of a mud-terrain tyre.
  • Quiet - A unique tread pattern design ensures a quiet ride
  • Quality you can afford - Has a 12.1mm deep tread, a heavy duty (light truck) construction and stacks of features that combine to make this a tyre that is real good, but not real expensive.
  • Extra large tread blocks and damage protector ribs - Aggressive rugged terrain look, with features that don't just look cool, but do what they're supposed to do. Tread lugs keep you suctioned to the terrain like an octapus to the face, while the damage protector ribs give you tough as nails sidewall protection against damage (from 4x4 tracks and for when you get too close to the gutter).
  • L/T Heavy Duty Construction - An upgrade to your passenger rated OE tyres to give you the extra strength you need in your tyres, so you can handle the daily commute, tear it up in the dirt and gravel and survive the conditions at even the messiest worksite.

Already tried twice and it doesn't get posted, so my conclusion  is only positive rating ar posted. And the tyres will be useless by 20,000 kmSo this is a pointless exercise for the benefit of only me, and that's no benefit at all. 🤣

I am clearly the odd one out but this is my experience.Happy with them other than wear. They've worn evenly with tyre rotation but only 6 mm left after 11000 kmI am in the Kimberley but 70% use is in town or highway. They'll be gone by the time I do the Gibb river rd and back to Victoria.Won't do more than 20,000 km.Much cheap than my last Micky Thompson's but they did me 55,000km with a lot of gravel and Rocky roads.

I appear to be the odd one out.I have been happy with the tyres in all areas other than wear. The wear is even, but after less than 2 years and with only 50% tread left, they'll be done by 20,000 km.They are all Kimberley km but probably at a guess, 70% local sealed roads.

have travelled the state(WA) towing a caravan, offroading and beach driving. They are an excellent multi use tyre that while the tread is quite aggressive they don't have the on road noise of some other tyres. Perform great in loose sand and rip through mud without losing traction. A good priced option that performs as well as many of the larger brands. Well worth spending the money on a set of these tyres just to satisfy yourself they are going to suit you.

I've always been one to try budget chinese brand tyres, as I've alway has good experiences. Until my previous set of cheap tyres could not be balanced up by 3 separate tyre shops! I then chose to scrap them and start again. A mate with a tyre shop recommended i try a new kid on the block, Terrafirma. They were selling very cheap at the time. I liked the look of the tread but was sceptical about the pretty tame looking sidewall 'biters', and the quite narrow contact patch (compared to my last tyre). I went with the Terrafirma's and was quite impressed. I drive 700km/ week on the freeway- not a problem wet or dry, i play offroad every few weekends and occasionally do big remote camping trips. I really test them out in mud and they are strong, im yet to get stuck due to lack of grip, only from bellying out. They get rotated every 10k km. 30k kms later, still going nicely. A little bit of road noise has crept in, but nothing offensive, and they're lucky to be 1/4 worn! I'd definitely buy them again over other brands that can demand a price twice as expensive.

Cannot recommend these tyres enough, they look tough but are quite on the road. They give me the confidence to drive off road or any weather conditions and my favourite part they are affordable, excellent value for money!
