I do a lot of outback touring towing a 2.5T caravan. These tyres have never let me down,no stone fractures or punctures. The one puncture I did have was caused by a screw. A bit slippery in the wet as they wear is my only complaint, but then so are many others.

Unsafe in the wet with any kind of acceleration, as they lose traction extremely easily. Only light drizzle needed, and makes for a very concerned drive as soon as it rains. Road noise fine, comfortable and seems to wear well but I’d never put them on a car. Decent enough for stock, but for an expensive Ute I’d expect a bit better traction. For context, first noticed pulling into a highway from an intersection after a few minutes of rain, into a typical gap at normal traffic times that I drive daily, I lost the back and was nearly sideways with the normal acceleration I’d use to take off into a lane. Since rain is a bit more frequent, noticing it every time there is wet roads and an uphill intersection I fee it’s slide or spin. Annoying at the best of times and unsafe if distracted or in an emergency.

These tyers are so bad in the wet I have to leave the car at home and catch a bus or drive the wife's car. The main issue is there is absolutely no grip in the wet, the car will not turn corners and stopping is a real hit or miss afair. As soon as I can afford to replace them I will, all ready have approval from the wife.

For a road biased Tyre, the Dunlop’s are very good. They are quiet when travelling at speed, and perform very well in the wet. For dry gravel roads and going off-road in the dry, they performed adequately. On wet clay soil roads, they are not the best. On a recent adventure to Wombeyan Caves in NSW, the rain was falling on the clay dirt road. On the corners, the front was sliding out, traction control kicked in, but was very ineffective, due all 4 wheels having less traction. 2 other vehicles in the group had AT tyres and Mud tyres. They did not suffer the sliding. The tread blocks are too close together and did not allow the blocks to bite into the road, therefore giving more grip. I am ready to advance to a more aggressive Tyre, Flaken are a very reputable brand, with many years in the off-road market. Now that the drought is over, and experienced the inadequacy of the OEM tyres, I am sure Falken will surpass.
