Goodyear Tyres EfficientGrip Performance Reviews
The tyre with improved grip and shorter braking distances on wet roads
Key Features
- A-rated wet grip - Rated A1 for wet grip performance, the highest rating awarded under EU regulations.
- Shorter braking distances for driving confidence - ActiveBraking Technology increases contact between the tyre and the road surface for shorter braking distances – up to two metres (8%) shorter on wet roads2 and 3% shorter in the dry3.
- Improved wet braking and lower rolling resistance - WearControl Technology ensures an optimal balance between wet grip and low rolling resistance for the life of the tyre.
- Lower fuel consumption - We use FuelSaving Technology to create a new base compound that reduces the tyre's energy dissipation. Rolling resistance is reduced by 18% meaning improved fuel efficiency and lower driving costs for you.

Some tyres make a good first impression. These made a better 15,000th.
Fifteen thousand kilometres later, I’ve stopped noticing them and that’s probably the biggest compliment I can give a tyre.
Most of my driving is a mix of Melbourne’s stop-start traffic, freeways and weekend road trips, so these tyres have seen a bit of everything. The biggest surprise has been their consistency. Wet mornings, dry afternoons, smooth highways or rough suburban streets, they’ve delivered the same predictable grip and confidence every time.
The real test isn’t the first drive after fitting them. It’s whether you still trust them months later. Mine have handled daily commuting and longer journeys without becoming noisy or unpredictable. The tread has worn evenly, fuel economy has remained consistent, and they’ve never given me a reason to second guess them in the wet.
What I appreciate most is that they don’t just grip the road, they grip your confidence! That’s something you only realise after living with them, not after a quick test drive.
If you’re comparing tyres, don’t ask which one shines on day one. Ask which one still earns your confidence after 15,000 km.
For me, that’s the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance.
