Bought my BFG KO2’s last year and have done just over 42,000km over a combination of mostly Highway, some beach and some dry off road tracks. Haven’t experienced these in thick mud as of yet, however I’ve found the KO2’s to be absolutely excellent when aired down for beach driving and on some very rocky and rubbly terrain. The thick sidewalls have been really good and haven’t been pierced even after copping some hard knocks on the sharp rocky inclines in Coffin Bay NP. I had a bit of concern about their effectiveness in the wet before buying these however I haven’t experienced any issues with loss of traction that some others had mentioned in their reviews. I just purchased another two as spares before I hit the Tanami and Gibb River tracks in the next two months. Very very happy with the purchase of the KO’s and will absolutely be buying them again.

I have run BFGs on My Amarok since 2012. I have 215,000kms on my ute and have only changed 3 times. Unfortunately my ute has been written off and I only juts bought BFGs last year. I found I get 90-100K out of the tyres. They last long, look tough and great off road. Only down fall is their performance on wet roads, especially around round abouts they slip out. But that is only small and everything else about the tyre is great (beside the price). They are pricey but they look and perform good. You get what you pay for.

Well they grip pretty well in the dry I have take 40km/h corners at 80km/h off road they handle well I drive a ute with an empty tub so spinning is going to happen on the highway they are good wet roads in the city they are like drift tyres (but aren't all off road tires) in saying that the roads are just plain slippery unless its brand new hot mix they are a little pricey and don't last as long with my driving but this is my 3rd set going to buy them again

I've run BFG for almost 30 years and I've always had very good service and performance out of them. I've read a lot of criticism about their performance on wet roads, but I've never had any issues with them, which is possibly related to the axle load balance of the Defender. They air down very well and I have never had one break the bead or damaged a side wall, all aspect that fill you with confidence that the tyre will get you there and back, regardless of how hard you work them.

I was originally going to buy a set of Toyo tyres for my ute, as a mate has recommended them for wet weather conditions. The tyre shop said they had a set in stock, but it turned out to be a set of odd sizes, and they only had the BFG's in stock, which were my second preference anyway. I bought them. They started off ok, and are a competent enough tyre off road, but in the wet they are TERRIBLE, especially after 15,000 km or so. So much so that I get other drivers giving me stink eye, because they think I am hooning, especially when taking off from the lights, even though I'm trying to drive gently. I'm in my late 40's, so understandably, its not a good look. It's also uncommon for me to be getting wheel spin at 60kmh in 3rd gear, and my ute is bog stock. My advice is to avoid these tyres if you have any intention of driving on wet bitumen.

Prior to the current pair I have always brought these tyres and have absolutely loved them. I have travelled all over Australia and in many different terrain types and have found them very reliable and not receiving any punctures. Travelling with the most precious cargo (my family) made me always buy safe and reliable tyres, I even put them on my work vehicle as I work alot in the bush. However, I am not sure what the change has been? But I am not happy regarding the wear of the tyre. The current pair have only lasted around 50,000km. I normally would get around 65,000 km out of them. Given the price I pay I am now looking for other tyre brands!

Stock tyres for the Thai made Ford Ranger Raptor. behaves very well at 160km/h-170km/h on DRY roads. Now, hard to control on wet roads, if you have a powerful truck, you can easily start a spin when starting in a curve or worse, when initiating overtaking. Fantastic offroad, can hit the trails at high speeds and hardly ever gets stuck in mud, even in 2WD.

Ill start by saying these are a fantastic A/T tyre. However I do have some gripes, I have these on a work ute, I would say I go off roading 1 - 2 weekends per month so the majority of my driving is road based. Off road I can not fault these, I regularly drop these to 15 psi and I have never been stuck in the sand and the trails you will have plenty of traction. The treadwear is also good likely due to the more hard compound, but this is where my gripes start. Because of the harder compound these tyres are just awful in the wet on the road, even in the dry under hard breaking they will let go. So in summery, if you have abs and traction control or spend the majority of your time off road then these are for you, but if like me you don't and drive a lot on the roads, look elsewhere.

Tyres (set of 6) have been rotated every service since new so approx 40,000 average per tyre. Pressures checked regularly (TPMS installed). Whilst the BFs have never let me down (1 screw in tyre causing slow leak which was repaired), they’re becoming quite unpredictable in the wet and quite a few decent nicks and chips. Sand and corrugated gravel/gibber roads have been exceptionally good. Mud and clay haven’t been an issue, although never going to compete with a mud tyre. I’ve found the noise quite acceptable. I’d definitely consider purchasing again and would recommend to others (with warning of wet weather performance and longevity) but will probably try something else next time.
