Cooper ATT Reviews

Cooper Logo

The ATT is designed with SUV drivers in mind and the lifestyle you lead. With a 60,000km warranty*, it delivers safety, reliability, durability and peace of mind.

Key Features

  • Wear Square Visual Indicators change as your tyres wear, making it easy to determine the tread life remaining, giving you confidence and safety you can see.
  • Whisper Groove Shields provide a sound barrier that minimises tyre noise for a quieter ride by reducing the noise created within the tyre cavity.
  • Stone Ejector Ledges and Engineered Groove Shapes easily eject stones and gravel, protecting the carcass from stone drilling and maintaining a clear tread for enhanced rough road traction.
  • Aqua Vac Channels improve the tyre’s resistance to hydroplaning by allowing water to evacuate quickly from the tread surface.
  • High Tensile Body Ply enhances damage resistance and increases load carrying capacity. 49% stronger than standard SUV tyres.
  • Advanced Silica Compound, formulated with the optimum content of chemically-coupled silica. This provides excellent wet traction and highway handling while lowering rolling resistance, for more grip and better fuel efficiency.

After 5 years and 160,000km these tyres have been brilliant. 55,000 was towing a 3.4t Van.  Value for money on a tyre that performed so consistently for so long. Just outstanding!

Fantastic AT tyres that perform incredibly on the road and are exceptionally strong on gravel and light offroad. Only downside is that in wet conditions the front can wash away a touch and be a little unpredictable however this seems to be on greasy roads after periods of limited rain. Amazing tyres and give 25000km of me testing them hard they’re solid performers.

A month or so 285/60R18 2000 April 5, 2024
I recently purchased a second hand 200 series, the tires were brand new on the vehicle which I thought was perfect as we had a trip planned for the Kalbarri and the Murchison House station. I honestly believed that Coopers would be the tyres to outlast all other brands with ‘proven reliability’ and ‘toughness’ for off-road conditions. I was left bewildered when two tires Chernobyled. The front passenger and rear passenger tyres didn’t last more than 1500 kms. The rear passenger wheel was beyond repair and failed to resemble any of its original design, and the front tire had rolled off the bead and had a minor puncture just above the sidewall, which I was able to repair and limped back to camp. Which this resulted in a rather abrupt change of plans and a rather unpleasant feeling in my wallet when we arrived in town. Resulting in basically replacing 5 tyres in less than 24 hours. I have tried and tested many different tyres in my time, from Faulkner, Dunlop, Yokohama, and BF Goodrich, and these are by the worst tyres I have ever encountered I thought the Dunlops were bad but they have got nothing compared to coopers and I will be steering well clear of Coopers you could not pay me to ever put the name on any of my 4WD’s ever.

I had an incident where the tyre burst and the pressure dropped from 36 to 0 PSI while driving on a sealed road with a car in front and a car behind. The burst caused the car to swerve hard to the left hitting the curb. For the price that you pay there would be some confidence in the brand. Rep said it was caused by puncture, but it was side wall near the rim and maybe it was bad luck and nothing to do with manufacturing defects. Offered a discount off a brand new tyre and free wheel balance. I was going 35 KM/H and can only imagine driving with these tyres at 100 KM/H with a truck left of me.

Good points - Good dry and wet on road grip. No chipping on gravel roads. Bad Points - The noise. It's hard to imagine that a tyre this mild would make this much noise. We have 2 of these utes. 1 with Cooper ATT and the other has Yokohama G016's. The ATT's are significantly louder on all road surfaces that the G016 and despite the G016 being LT and the ATT being a P tyre, the ATT has a harsher ride. They are fine on gravel roads and off road in dry or damp conditions. As you would expect mud performance isn't thier strong point. Previous tyres on this ute were Dunlop at20. ATT's are better on wet roads, about the same on dry roads and have the same gravel road performance. The AT20 were actually better on gravel road driving and on wet grass in paddocks. Tyre wear - By my tread depth gauge they started off with 8.9mm of tread (Cooper claims 9.3mm on their website). After 31,000kms they have 6.2mm remaining. They would last approximately 70,000kms before needing replacement for gravel and off road use. Unfortunately for me I will be replacing them much sooner because I can not tolerate the constant droning noise especially on course chip roads in rural areas where the ute spends the majority of its time. Value for money - If I could put up with the noise for their full life it would have been good but given I am going to replace them before using half the tread, it's poor value for me.

I bought these in March this year, and by December, and with only 25,000kms on them, one was down to the wire. They wore out too quickly and were noisy and rough. Would not buy again, and put forteras on the rear now, so have them all round.

Put them on the Outback, as I either drive in the city or highway, and then take them up the gravel road to the skifield. Not as quiet as a highway tyre but quiet enough. Great on gravel roads and feels sturdy and stable. Feels great in the wet as well.

Coopers will not support their warranty !!!! What's the point of paying so much for tyres that are "Guaranteed" and they don't back their guarantee?????

Options for all terrain tyres are limited for the Kluger given its standard wheel size (250/55R19), so stepped up to 255 with these Cooper ATTs. Very glad I did. Not many KMs so far but I have taken them many places. Have driven and pushed them a few times in city/on highway in a deluge of very heavy rain (Qld) and they performed very well, no slips (Kluger constant AWD helps no doubt). Perform well in the dry. No greater noise, if not less, than previous bridgestone and yokohama road tyres. Very comfortable tyres on the Kluger. Have driven them a few times on flat and steep mountain 4WD tracks, with gravel, deep ruts and surface of large slippery rocks, and they didn't make one mistake at any time. The Kluger has Snow Mode for slippery or places of difficult traction, and I didn't even have to use it. I felt safe and in control the whole way. Early to tell on treadwear but by all accounts they will last a long time. Great value for money when compared to usual road tyres that cost near the same but don't last. And to top it all off, they look fantastic on the Kluger, they fill out the wheel arches much better than standard Kluger tyre size. If you need new tyres, go and get a set of Coopers ATTs !
