As faras an allround tyre is concerned I can't fault them. For the kind of off road touring I do they are more than adequate. They are very stable on wet roads , and give plenty of grip on gravel. There is some road noise as they have worn but nothing too intrusive. They are wearing very well buti do get the rotated and alanced every 6 months

Canadian tyre reviewer. These are my favourite tyres that I’ve used on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD. They’re so good that I just bought another set, so a 100% would buy again rating because I actually did hahaha. They’ve performed as good or better than any other tyres I have tried including ko2’s, duratrax, etc but cost a fair bit less. On pavement they’re smooth, grippy, responsive, quiet, and predictable while giving above average fuel economy. Realistically you would have to move away from AT tyres to get better on road performance. Off road they have performed as good as the bfg ko2 (which is high praise) but their lighter weight was a little easier on the suspension and brake pads, and they didn’t beat up the trail as bad. They tackled any terrain that I would realistically attempt without a full on mud tyre. On gravel roads they’re fantastic. I have more confidence with this tyre while accelerating, breaking, turning, and power sliding on both shallow and deep gravel. They follow the ruts less than most of the other tyres I’ve used. Now, the biggest reason I bought these tyres (and the reason I bought them again) is because their winter performance is on par with my old Michelin Xice winter tyres. Seriously. They handle gnarly snow, ice, slush, and harsh Western Canadian winter driving as well as my dedicated winter tyres so I sold them and just run these Road Venture AT51’s year round. 3 peak mountain snowflake confirmed. They’re not as good on ice as a full on studded winter tyre but realistically nothing will be. So if I’m realistic about what I drive and how I drive it there’s maybe a dozen days per year where an expensive studded winter tyre is better than the AT51’s, but for the other 353 days of the year it’s a fantastic all around tyre. I strongly recommend this tyre for light trucks and SUV’s like Tacoma’s, 4Runner’s, Ranger’s, Xterra’s, etc. It’s light and relatively soft so if you have a 3500/f350 or bigger truck you’ll probably consider a beefier tyre. The Canadian price may or may not be useful to you but my new set cost 20-30% less than the other AT tyres I was considering. Who’s got two thumbs and is happy with his tyres? This guy! Thanks for taking the time to read my review and have a great day.

About a year 285/75R16 60000 October 30, 2022
I used to have Bridgestone D697 Duellers which I enjoyed. As I was mostly wanting an 'outback touring' tyre, I chose these ones from my local tyre shop, as they offered free rotation and balance every 10,000km. I generally like my 4WD tyres to look 'chunky' and these tyres do not look like that at all. They almost look like a highway tyre. For that reason, they were awesome tyres for about 90% of the places I took them to. I reckon I would personally class this tyre as 70% on-road, 30% off-road. I had done around 60,000km and I was towing my off-road camper trailer up a hill on my wet property in Western Victoria. I was in low range 4WD when all of a sudden my car and trailer started sliding backwards down the hill (they're fine in the dry, just not severely wet conditions like on this day) which got me thinking that perhaps I should look at some tyres that are slightly more aggressive than these AT51's. I ended up getting myself a set of Kumho MT51's, but that's a review for another day. Overall, my AT51's were a good all-round tyre. Good on-road, good in a lot of offroad environments, just not slippery mud. Would I buy them again? Probably not, because I reckon they won't be around for much longer as Kumho recently released the AT52 tyre.

Very soft sidewalls, allows the tyre to 'squirm' under lateral loads (cornering). Doesn't inspire confidence when going around a round-about, absolutely terrifying when towing. The slightest bend in the road and it'll induce oversteer or understeer depending on whether you're power on or power off. Has put me off buying Kumhos for ANY car!

I have a import 4wd HiAce Super Custom. I was looking at all terrains and the Kumho AT51 tyres were priced much better than the others. For all four fitted they were much cheaper than BF KO2s and not much more expensive than the cheap unknown brands. It's been a wet winter in Perth and I've turned in sharply a few times on unknown roads expecting to get understeer or slide, NOPE. Grip is exceptional. Dry traction is excellent also. They are slightly noisier than the highway terrains I had on, I'd say about 4% nosier. They are wearing evenly on my full time 4wd 2 tonne van. You'd find reviews for them being slippery but that's from ute drivers who don't really understand vehicle dynamics. Utes have had slippery read ends for decades in the wet because they have a light rear end with stiff suspension. I was concerned about how soft the rubber was on my tyres but we had a mine spec ute come in with the same AT51 tyres at around 30k KMs on it and it's wearing evenly and the rubber is firm. So it looks like the super soft rubber will normalise after some use. The ute does 70% rocky outback type mine driving and the tyres have the slightest bit of scalloping. We get loads of utes in with lots of all terrains on them and the Kumho AT51 is scalloping better than some others. I'm very happy with them on my car. We did a bit of sand driving, they gripped well. We also did a fair chunk of dirt roads earlier and they seemed just fine there. Roll over rocks with confidence, wet dirt roads were good too. Some boggy sections but it gripped and got though. Was surprised to see how clean the tread was after muddy boggy sections. Highly recommended, hopefully they last a long time.

Towing a dual axle trailer in the wet with perfect disc brakes working on trailer down right dangerous Pirelli Scorpions 10 times better. Tread wear rear 30000 gone not up to continually towing 2 tonne. Builder always tow trailer.

Had the tyres on my Patrol for 2 years and 65,000km and they still have tread on them, the only reason im due a new set is I didnt rotate them often enough and heavy loads on a regular basis have warped them and i have a flat spot or 2 from slamming on the anchors while towing a heavy trailer. They are a great value for money, but they are at the end of the day a jack of all trades master of none tyre

Really have to keep psi, rotation and wheel balances on time every time or they wear excessively quickly. I'm not one to skimp out with tyre upkeep but this is the lowest kms I've ever gotten from a tyre, and at the price the product was well below the standards I've expected from Kuhmo.
