The MT764 has been a great tyre. I’ve had them on this Ute which is my daily for the past 2 years. I work in trade and have only had one nail penetrate my tyre in the 3 years I’ve had them on. I commute in Sydney so they’ve put up with all sorts of road conditions and have the ability to pull me up full loaded. Overall great set of tyres that I would definitely purchase again!

Couldn't recommend these tyres enough. I'm upto 70000 kms on my second set . On road they are brilliant and don't slide around on wet road like most all terrains and more expensive mud tyres. Offroad you can't stop them in the mud and they have never punctured on rocky terrain. My truck is my daily for work, its Been to Tassie on this set and the Victorian high country and they still  aint too noisy even after 3 years and 70000 kms.  The perfect all rounder with looks to match!  Thanks maxxis!

Apart from change in direction (more travel not tracks) I would buy them again. I have abused these tyres and the have had a good life and never let me down. I currently have over 75000km on them and are 8 years old. I am considering purchasing another set of maxxis tyres but maybe a/t not m/t

I have had the Maxxis Bighorn MT764 on my Hilux for 3 years and 70,000kms now and they just starting to get to the end of their life. The most important thing to keep in consideration with this offroad tyre is just that, it is an offroad tyre designed for offroad use. In this respect, they are great! In the handful of times I've done some serious four wheel driving they performed flawlessly. They provide excellent traction in mud and rocks and work really well with tyre pressures dropped (I found about 16-18 PSI to be the best pressure). I've never had a puncture with them and never had any tread blocks been chipped or damaged. They have worn really well and lasted much longer than I expected, I think that regular rotation and correct on-road tyre pressures have a lot to do with this. The only drawback with these tyres is the on-road performance, they are really noisy on the bitumen! For someone who does 98% (like myself) of their driving on-road then I would not recommend these tyres. I also feel like they have slightly increased the fuel consumption due to the higher rolling resistance of the mud-terrain tread pattern. Otherwise their traction on-road is okay, I've never once broken traction on-road even in the wet or under hard braking. These tyres would suit someone who does a high amount of offroad driving or serious four wheel driving and needs the reliability of a tyre that isn't going to get a puncture in the middle of nowhere and maximum traction in the tough stuff. Cheers, John. 2016 Toyota Hilux SR5.

Very noisy. By far the noisiest mud terrain I've ever owned. Also, when new, because of a soft compound of rubber, allows the vehicle to 'walk' on the road. Not very happy at all.

This is the second set of Maxxis MT764's I have fitted. First set on my GQ Patrol, which I sold. I loved the tyres so much when I bought my D-Max, the first things to go were the all terrains on it for a set of MT764's. For muddies they are sensational around town. Not very noisy and great grip especially in the wet. Almost silent when new, and the noise (hum) does increase as they age, but not to an annoying amount. Offroad, just brilliant. Great in sticky mud. The sidewalls bag out nicely when the pressures are lowered, so they are good on sand, have taken it to Fraser Island several times. Good on rocky fire trails and places like touring the Vic High Country. Never got a single puncture off road, although picked up a tek screw around town once and that's the only puncture I have had! Have got 55,000km on them now, which is brilliant for a muddie. I haven't been a good boy and rotated them as regularly as I should, nor have I had a regular front end alignment. The rears have probably got another 10k left in them and the fronts are shot and have worn out on the inside such that they need replacing. Would otherwise have another 10k left on them if I'd been good and rotated and had a front end alignment every 10k. Am going to fit another set of these in the coming weeks, such great value for money.
