Maxxis Logo
Showcasing the Maxxis RAZR AT811! A worthy companion to the RAZR MT772. Engineered using the know-how Maxxis has gained from years of research in the off-road and all-terrain tyre markets, the Maxxis RAZR AT811 is cutting edge in every way!

Key Features

  • Blade-shaped tread block design ensures excellent off-road traction and water drainage in wet weather conditions.
  • Aggressive ‘side biter’ lugs assist in providing optimal traction in muddy conditions and protect the sidewall from cuts and punctures.
  • Unique shoulder lug design assists with traction in heavy off-road conditions – especially when being driven at lower inflation pressures.
  • ‘Saw edge’ shoulder blocks enhance traction in harsh off-road conditions.
  • A unique stone-ejecting shoulder groove reduces the possibility of stones lodging between tread blocks and damaging the tyre casing.
  • Dual-layer high tension cap ply ensures excellent cornering ability on and off the road, as well as further improving puncture resistance.
  • The high-strength polyester carcass construction improves cornering ability and ensures optimal puncture resistance.
  • A high elasticity lower sidewall filler compound results in excellent ride comfort – especially on unpaved roads.
  • The 3- ply sidewall construction provides further puncture resistance in off-road conditions.

I got these as they were well regarded and we were about to head away on a trip around Oz which included some rougher tracks and I wanted something I could be confident in.When I got them I was surprised how firm the ride felt to the HT that came with the ute. They also sapped a lot of power. The good news is they performed very well in the dry and the wet when new. I had one puncture on the road out to Mount Augustus which was actually a pristine dirt road. Found out after that Maxxis have a warranty but only if you register, so make sure you do this if you get these tyres.Had them down on the beach and yeah got bogged but drop the pressures to 15 or 13 and it wasn't a problem. Climbed right out while towing a 2T camper trailer.Did some other pretty rough roads like the gibb, bungles, and mereenie loop with no other issues at all so I think I just got unlucky with the one puncture. Overall we covered almost 30k km on that trip (again, towing a 2T camper 90% of that distance) and now I'm back to driving around Melbourne and the tyres are looking a bit worse for wear but still have plenty of life in them I reckon. They are getting a bit noisier now they're worn down and could do with a rotation but other than that, really rate the tyres performance. Was a bit sour that Maxxis didn't cooperate with the warranty but whatever, partly my fault for not registering but also didn't know I needed to. I would buy them again but would also be open to trying the Yokohamas as well.

Great tyres. Good all round performance. Sidewalls are solid and a pretty aggressive tread pattern. Road noise is not an issue at all considering the tread pattern. I have them on a Y62 patrol and they are wearing well on the heavy vehicle. I will definitely be getting them again!

I do a lot of country unsealed road driving; I wanted something that was more puncture resistant than the factory Toyota Tires. I can say these have been significantly more puncture resistant but that’s the only positive I have. They tend to skate across the road and have really inconsistent grip levels, I have to drive particularly cautiously as I never know if they will understeer or oversteer and it just leaves me with no confidence in the turning of the vehicle. On damp clay roads they have good grip but on dry or wet gravel roads you would get more grip out by walking on a frozen lake in Ugg Boots.

When new were very grippy and quite but have worn very quickly and now have splits. I found the OffRoad Proformance below average. also, the car wobbles around a lot on these Tyres which is becoming widely reported.

Only had these for a short while as I wanted to move up to a 3 ply sidewall after running toyo AT2’s and am about to do some seriously rocky trips through ranges in the Barkly and Victoria river areas. Initial impression is that they are easily as comfortable as the toyos and probably a better match with the dobinson suspension spring rates for steering turn in and overall body control. Handling is also more neutral. Very very slightly more noise on bitumen but only if you wind down the windows. Yet to test seriously in the bush but will report later.

Not great. Considerably less grip than my last set (Falken Wildpeaks) in all conditions, especially wet roads and gravel. Road noise is ok, not quiet, not loud. Treadwear seems fine. Won't be buying these again.

Lots of people love these tyres and they do have plenty of good points. The stick well in the wet and off road they're very strong and capable. I feel that because they have 10 ply and thick sidewall they lack any 'give' on road and particularly with the relative light weight of the 4.0L Hilux they just develop an intermittent wobble, not all the time, it comes and goes and seems to be better when towing or loaded. I can only assume that I, like a couple of others, got a set of duds. They are almost impossible to balance and noisy as hell. I've been back to the tyre guys several times and they always re-balance them and they're sort of good for a while then slowly start to wobble and shake. I've tried pressures from 40psi down to 20psi. Anyhow, I'm just waiting for these to wear out, I won't be buying them again and will be weary of Maxxis in future.
