After having Continental CC5 fitted to the original wheels on my VX Berlina wagon (205/65/r15) I thought I would try them again after lowering the car and putting bigger SS wheels on (235/45/r17) as the secondhand tyres that came with the SS wheels were rubbish and the difference is night and day. The road noise is gone and the grip is through the roof, it feels like a new car with the MC6 tyres fitted. They have only been on for a thousand KMs and I'll update the review if anything changes but so far so good. Just for reference, the car is lowered on superlow King springs all round and Monroe GT Sport struts and shocks and all of the bushes have been replaced with Nolathane. A wheel alignment was performed when the tyres were fitted. I always keep my tyre pressures at 36 psi all round.

went with a set of Conti MC6s on a Mazda 3 (2.3L 4 cylinder) luke-warm hatchback. Commute is roughly 1 hour each way, with half being inner city and half at long highway speeds. Decided to wait 6 months before reviewing these, as when these tyres were put on, the rims size and width had been upsized 1inch wide and diameter to 18x7.5 rims. Car is also on upgraded Koni Orange suspension with 30mm King Low Springs. its very firm and somewhat an odd choice for my long commute, being ridiculously firm, but the handling and hardness keeps me awake. First week of the MC6 fitted were greeted with heavy rains. Was very easy to get used to these tyres and felt confident in the handling and braking. Very reassuring for a FWD car. No issues with quick take offs or wheel spin (manual transmission) After many months of long drives (Australian Roads, so average at best, with some nice new fresh tarmac in some sections). and driving speeds of up to 120+km/h with 36PSI, i am very happy with these tyres. these were an improvement over the previous cheap tyres (Ohtsu FP1000) in terms of cabin noise, particularly on smoother roads, but on coarse roads, they are just as terrible. My initial pre purchase concerns were, that they would not be as long lasting as my previous experience with an OEM set of contis fitted onmk5 Golf TDI (forget the conti model) had appaling wear and treadlife, but so far these MC6s are looking like they are faring very well after my first rotation and alignment. My only post purchase disapointment, on the continentals, i was led to believe these were made in the Malaysia plant (after netsearching) but the MC6s i have are stamped Made in China. Not a huge deal breaker, as i was researching other tyres made in China but decided to spend a bit more due to perceived quality and safety. Not a big deal and IMHO, these are a fair price for tyres that ride the border between performance, grip and safety, for daily driving duties.

It grips down well on the dry and am able to get through corners where other tires would slip but I can feel the tire holding tight and not wanting to let go. I have run it on a drag strip doing 15s runs and after a quick burnout the tires will grip down strongly

Bought these as a cheaper option than some Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres. Excellent braking/handling in the dry though the sidewalls are a little soft (which makes these a very comfy tyre). Wet weather handling is good, though it doesn't shed water as well as my old PS3 Michelins. 10k old and there is heaps of tread left of these tyres & they are a very quiet tyre as well. At the pricepoint, they are hard to beat.

So far I would have to say fitting my Volvo with Continental Max Contact has been my best choice by far. They are durable and the tread seems to have outlasted my precious tyres. I would definitely recommend these tyres.
