Let's start with the negatives:
- Advertised as ultra high performance tyres, however the traction rating is only A. Other sizes may be AA but not not mine.
- Manufactured in China. Continental really aren't very transparent about that little detail. I doubt that I would've purchased if I was aware
- Looks are subjective, but the sidewall design has to be some of the ugliest on the market
Positives:
- Phenomenal in the wet, particularly under hard braking
- Decent in the dry and give fairly good feedback for a comfort focused tyre
- Super quiet. This may change once worn state creeps in, but in new state they're silky smooth
- Treadwear rating is 420 which is fairly decent for a softish compound tyre
Final thoughts
As I was purchasing for the family car, I opted for the UX7 mainly for safety reasons. They haven't disappointed in that area.
Chinese tyres however are notoriously atrocious in the wet, but if I didn't know these were made in China, I never would've guessed. With that said, the price point is still very much European. That needs to change.

Initial review. The marketing isn't lying for once. Amazingly quiet, smooth, confident tyre. Much better grip in all conditions compared to the standard fit toyo. Car feels so much better in every seat of the pants measure. Hopefully they last a while too. Can be bought around the mid spec price but I'm reckoning should be compared to the upper tier for performance.
