Maxxis RAZR AT811 Reviews

Maxxis Logo
Showcasing the Maxxis RAZR AT811! A worthy companion to the RAZR MT772. Engineered using the know-how Maxxis has gained from years of research in the off-road and all-terrain tyre markets, the Maxxis RAZR AT811 is cutting edge in every way!

Key Features

  • Blade-shaped tread block design ensures excellent off-road traction and water drainage in wet weather conditions.
  • Aggressive ‘side biter’ lugs assist in providing optimal traction in muddy conditions and protect the sidewall from cuts and punctures.
  • Unique shoulder lug design assists with traction in heavy off-road conditions – especially when being driven at lower inflation pressures.
  • ‘Saw edge’ shoulder blocks enhance traction in harsh off-road conditions.
  • A unique stone-ejecting shoulder groove reduces the possibility of stones lodging between tread blocks and damaging the tyre casing.
  • Dual-layer high tension cap ply ensures excellent cornering ability on and off the road, as well as further improving puncture resistance.
  • The high-strength polyester carcass construction improves cornering ability and ensures optimal puncture resistance.
  • A high elasticity lower sidewall filler compound results in excellent ride comfort – especially on unpaved roads.
  • The 3- ply sidewall construction provides further puncture resistance in off-road conditions.

Love the feel of the tyre on the road or dirt track, but the noise they make, can't hear to each other at speeds under 100k, played with tyre pressure, checked wheel bearings, and done another wheel alignment and still the same, but quite as anything once i hit 100k's.

Had these on my new Raptor for six months and not a huge fan. They did most things well but I found them relatively noisy, Maybe I'm just fussier than most but I've now switched to Falken Wildpeaks and find them a lot smoother and quieter.

I bought the Maxxis Razr AT811 after putting 80,000km on the Falken Wildpeaks. I couldn't find a direct comparison anywhere on the web, so here it is: In my opinion the Maxxis are not as good as the Falken. On dry cornering they feel wishy washy and not accurate in the steering. Same feeling on wet roads, but slips earlier than the wildpeak did (wildpeak rarely lost traction). Road noise is nice and quiet though. Only put 5000km on the Maxxis so will report back if I notice anything else.

Great tyre, compared to my last set of more highway focused at's these are grippy even in wet, and I've experienced minimal loss of traction which is impressive in a dual cab ute. I've used these tyres in the high country in the snow and mud as well as fraser island and never had any problems with grip or punctures. Road noise is also great considering the aggressive pattern. I can definitely see myself getting another set after these, which might be a while off considering the decent wear on them.

Had some drama but Maxxis customer support was exceptional. My 06 100 series Landcruiser had a good run with Mickey Thompson ATZP3's but the handling in the wet was poor. I am extremely impressed with the how quiet and well behaved the Maxxis AT811 tyres are. Exceptional grip and handling on my 3.2+ ton 4x4. They have bought back my confidence in the vehicles ability and safety. The installer was unable/incapable of fitting and balancing 4 new tyres properly and vibration on Hwy at 100k's was a problem. After much frustration with the original fitter not able to balance properly, I went to another Maxxis dealer. The Maxxis rep came to have a look and was hands on to identify the problem of incorrect fitment. All 4 tyres were replaced at no charge. So 10/10 for customer service Maxxis. The Maxxis RAZR AT811 is great value superb handling 4x4 AT.

I was surprised to see how quiet and comfortable these tyres are while keeping good handling (better than dueller h/t) and ride comfort at high levels at all times. Never had an AT tyre that was comfortable to drive and good (aggressive) off road. This is the new tech tyre of 2023 I feel, under rated by many, superior in its own class, nothing gets close to this tyre when considering comfort, 4x4, noise, dry/wet handling on freeways and corners - all in one tyre?? (No joke, I’m still a bit shocked to realise how good it is, something futuristic going on here fellas, buy them if you are after aggressive 4x4 - 3 ply tyres that are super quiet and comfortable! (I’ll say it one more time : ) )

Chose the Maxis RAZR AT 811’s based on one of your videos, moving from K02’s that were on the Ranger Raptor wheels I put on my Everest and I’m very happy with the new shoes. I no longer need to tiptoe around when it’s wet like I had to on the K02’s and they are great in the gravel and off road, confidence inspiring all around. They are not cheap so fingers crossed I get reasonable life out of them. There is a small amount of noise but significantly less than the K02’s and in reality quiet for an aggressive ATR but a little noisier than a highway focussed ATR. If they last well I will definitely buy again. Thanks for the reviews, makes it a lot easier to choose a tyre when someone independent gives you an honest long term review.

Have these on my LC200 and most of the Kms were towing my 3.5T offroad rated caravan and previously with my 2.5T camper trailer. I have travelled a lot off road in Northern Australia. Getting close to worn out after 30000km. I'm probably a bit hard on them as usually doing at least 100kmh on highway and as quick as conditions allow off road and usually pretty hot weather and roads.

Excellent offroad with side walls that are comfortable enough to be a daily driver on the road. They do collect some small stones on the center treat but they are never flung off onto the paint work or panels of the vehicle.

The best tyres I've had on my 200 series. Quiet and grippy on road. Superb in the wet. Delivers more than enough performance off road for my needs. Wearing well so far. Awesome!
