Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 Reviews

I purchased these tyres to begin a trip around Australia towing a caravan. The tyres performed very well in many aspects and a nice tyre to drive on. They have good road manners, comfortable and quiet. The road grip is great in the dry and a little loose in the wet. Off road the less aggressive tread was OK and did all that I wanted from a touring AT tyre. However the tyre wear has been horrible and the tyres will need to be replaced at 30,000Klm. Initial tyre ware was rapid but has slowed down now that I am only doing local travel and not towing the caravan. In my trip of 19,000 kilometers towing the caravan the tyres wore 75% and I have complained to Yokohama about this poor performance with very little support from them. They have inspected the tyres and agree that they have worn rapidly and that balance and alignment are excellent. I have had the tyres rotated 3 times and balanced each time to try and maximise their life. Typically I would have expected to get in excess of 60,000 kilometers from a good quality AT tyre and speaking to other Colorado owners towing similar size caravans, they are receiving the higher distance from their tyres.

These tyres are brilliant on the beach and on the road as well. Have done a lot of wheeling on Moreton Island and Fraser as well with no issues to report. They look like they will return good mileage but a bit too early to be sure.

I have gotten 60,000km out of these tyres... I think I could have gotten another 15 out of them if I rotated them regularly.

Good warranty when I hit an object on the road however overall not a great Tyre.

Not a bad tyre for the price but bought them without doing much research and am currently wanting to upgrade. Overall it’s not a bad tyre, seem to be getting good life out of them, good in the wet and off-road aswell.

I have driven these tyres off-road, in the snow and across creeks with no loss of traction, and they have performed very well both on wet and dry surfaces. I did some research prior to purchasing the tyres and I can say after 50,000 km, I am very happy with their performance. They are an awesome all-round all-terrain tyre, and I would recommend them to anyone who does a mix of normal and off-road driving.

Overall good tyres but can be better, found front tyres wear down quick due to turning. Offroad/ sand tyres were a treat

I 100% recommend the Yokohama Geolander A/T-S, so far I have owned two sets of these tyres for two different vehicles. I first ran them on my Nissan GU Patrol and now run them on my Toyota 80 Series Landcruiser. I initially purchased these tyres due to the brilliant price point (especially with the buy 3 get one free deal) to run as a daily set of tyres. After getting in trouble with the law for my off-roading tyres I made the decision to use the Geolander's both on and off road, with the expectation that I would wear through them quickly and upgrade to a more aggressive tread pattern. Almost 3 years later I had barely any tread wear and no real complaints, after purchasing my Landcruiser I searched online for a second hand pair of Geolander's and found a set very quickly. This set had already tackled Cape York and a number of other placed and had barely lost the new tyre knobs. On-road these tyres handle brilliantly in the dry and I've barely been able to get any slippage in the wet (even when I've tried!). Off-road they handle amazingly, they bag out well and are puncture resistant. I've constantly been amazed with the grip they have provided on rock faces, gravel and sand. I've only had one puncture in them, which was from driver error - a lack of attention on a technical track led me to forcing a sharp root in the bank through my sidewall. As with all tyres, Geolander's do have their down sides. Unfortunately I am regularly getting out performed while driving through mud, however they are all terrains not mud terrains, so I can't complain about that. With the soft compound of the tyre, you do have to make sure to let the tyres down before driving on gravel at high speeds otherwise they will chip and scratch. All in all, 9/10 for a tyre.

In the near 100,000km of having these tyres on my Challenger, we have exposed them to sand driving, steep loose gravel hills and thick mud as well as it being my daily on the freeway. The tyres feel like road tyres on the highway, yet perform amazingly in the sand and dirt roads. They leave you wanting a little more grip in the bush when things get a little wet and muddy, however if you are a daily commuter who wants a tyre that will get you to great bush and beach campsites on the weekend, this tyre is for you. 95,000km in and only just starting to look at my next set.
