Hankook Ventus Prime3 (K125) Reviews

Hankook Logo
High comfort demands combined with attractive performance characteristics were achieved during the development of the Prime³ by optimising a series of components. Thus, for example, the lightweight yet sturdy carcass makes safe handling of the premium tyre possible even with a sporty driving style, while the high-grip silica compound means excellent results in terms of wet grip for the EU label.

Key Features

  • 4 Water clearing/cooling channels - Improved water displacement.
  • Vehicle Alignment Indicators (VIA) - Brings the Hankook (VIA) Vehicle Alignment Indication system into this market sector, giving the driver visual cues on wheel alignment changes over time.
  • 3 strong wide tread ribs - Enhanced steering precision and mileage.
  • Groove Chamfer - Spreads contact patch under braking for better grip.

I drive about 500km a week, 2/3 highway, 1/3 city. I've rotated the tyres every 10,000km and had a wheel alignment when I had them fitted, and then again after 18 months when I could feel the car pulling a little to one side. The crew that fitted them say I've still got 5-10,000 km of tread left on them, so in just over 2 years I'll have done about 60,000km. I drive pretty steady these days, but these tyres have served me well, and never even squeak when I'm pushing it a bit on a bend. Awesome.

Absolutely must have balanced tyre performance is up there witht he bridgestone potenza for much less and keep in mind the rubber isnt a soft as bridgestone tends to use!! although the drawback would be you tend to miss on comfort it makes up for it grips well and fuel efficiency is the same. it can get loud and the comfort only drawbacks i would put this tyre equal to the nitto 860 8/10

Purchased with vehicle. Drove like wheel alignment was out. After wheel alignment done, there was some improvement still "tramlining" and not tracking correctly at speeds over 80 km/h, which I consider dangerous. Can't afford to replace with quality road tyres, so will have to continue driving cautiously and slowly until I can afford quality tyres. Knowledgeable friend said my tyres may be from second rate factory and made cheaply for Ford in a bulk (cheap) purchase.

These tyres have good wet and dry grip. In wet conditions, the tyres inspire confidence and can feel safe that the car will not aquaplane. Dry grip is predictive and has good initial turn in but tends to understeer once adding slight more lock. Road noise is average and can be uncomfortable on rough bitumen, making conversations difficult with passengers. When the tyres are due for replacement, I will be upgrading to the Yokohama BluEarth A AE50 due to previous experience, which this tyre offers a more comfortable ride, lower road noise and superior wet and dry handling.

Definitely been a good tyre for me, I have done plenty of kms on them and they just keep going. Very very good grip in the dry and once contributed to saving a life in an emergency stop. Definitely recommend them. On the contrary, probably a little too noisy and maybe a bit more on the expensive side of things, but apart from that it’s definitely served me well.
