I always thought Pirelli tyres were one of the best tyres manufacturers. I have had numerous versions over the years but were all highway and performance tyres which were great..... but unfortunately doesn’t convert to Off Road 4WD tyres they just don’t cut the mustard They perform ordinary off road hopeless in rough conditions and don’t ever venture into mud

All up they are a good road tire but I would say they are not a good 4wd Tire as they are slippery. Quite a good road tire really quiet and good grip in dry and not bad grip in wet. I am in the market now for bigger and more aggressive tires as I do a lot of 4wd

I was initially impressed with these on my new Amarok V6, however that didn’t last long. After 1500km they started to chip on the front axle. Pressure, rotating and wheel alignment all done but they still “chip”, pieces of tread peel off but only on the front. I don’t think they are suited to the weight of the V6 motor. No back up from VW or Pirelli. They handle well but tyres should last too! My first and last set of Pirellis.

Bought these when I was doing a lot of highway kms. They were a great purchase as they were great on road in the wet and dry. They aren't the best off road but that isn't what I bought them for.

The Pirelli ATR's have been a good quiet tyre for the first half of their life. I had one puncture (a large piece of metal from road works). The wet weather performance has dropped off and they have started to wander. A road biased AT that performed very well offroad in the dry but struggled in wet, snowy and loose terrains. A definite compromise but would recommend to anybody staying mostly on hard surfaces, for towing, and general touring.

Loved These tyres when they were first fitted to the Vehicle. They have performed well on the Beach as well as Dirt Tracks. I tow in excess of 2 ton on a Regular Basis and these tyres handle the load very well. Wet and Dry handling declined very quickly after approx 40,000klms. Tyres now need replacing more due to decline in Handling than lack of Tread.

The Pirelli Scorpion ATR on my Navara D40 have provided me with good control in not only dry conditions but wet as well. Haven’t had any issues with them spinning in wet conditions or anything. They have provided smooth travels and the they don’t create any road noise.

The Pirelli Scorpion ATRs were on the vehicle when I bought it and had a few kms on them already as the tread depth was not super deep. Initially I was a bit dubious for their purpose on a 4wd as the tread pattern is not very aggressive. However - In the wet and average roads in FNQ the tyres have been great! They’re comfortable, quiet and very grippy on the road, and not too bad on the dirt and gravel we drive on. Have not used in mud. If you want a quiet and grippy AT that is pretty solid for occasional dirt and gravel, they’re pretty good. Wear rate is ok, we’re just under 40k km and they will probably get to 50k km for us if we had too and that’s after the previous owner.

Uneven tread wear and tread has worn rather quickly in comparison to brands that I have used previously. Wheel alignments and rotations performed regularly. Not aggressive enough tread and aquaplanes quite easily in wet weather.

Great all round tyre, low noise on highway, no loss of traction in the wet or even on dirt/gravel roads. Great comfort ride when run on recommended psi.

Brilliant tyres. Perfect Highway and gravel road tyres. Perform very well for a spirited drive through winding country given they are an ATR. Very quite and amazing wear life. Only negative point I had was in muddy conditions, boggy grassy paddocks, they don’t have great ability to flick mud out of the treads so you can quickly find yourself sliding or stuck! Guessing that’s why they have now introduced the ATR Plus series.
