I've spent a career doing walk-around inspections on aircraft tyres, so I pay closer attention to rubber than most. The Pirelli Scorpions came factory-fitted on my RS Q3, and after roughly 30,000 km of Sydney commuting, motorway runs and the occasional enthusiastic squirt from the five-cylinder, I've got a clear verdict: capable tyre, but budget for replacements sooner than you'd like. Grip and refinement have been perfectly fine for daily driving, no dramas, no surprises. The issue is wear. With 294 kW and a heavy nose, the RS Q3 works its front tyres hard, and mine are wearing noticeably faster than I'd hoped at this mileage. If you're driving anything this torquey, rotate them religiously and don't expect to see 40,000 km. Would I refit them? I'd weigh them against a Michelin or Continental equivalent first. Good tyre, just know what you're signing up for on running costs.
